By now you all should know I do not like Recruiting Services. Coaches consistently tell me and others who as “Do Not Waste Your Money”. Are there some good ones? Yes. And I will mention the few we like in a follow up Post. Now my positions are not extreme it is just reality. No one can get you a scholarship in exchange for money. No amount of bribery, influence peddling, or selling tapes to colleges for Thousands will do the job. The “Street Agents” are running the same old Carnival act we have all seen or trying to sell you the same Snake Oil that our ancestors fell for.
Today’s Recruiting is easier and harder then it has ever been. Having the right tooks to win the game matters and this one is at the top of our list!
So many people that hear that ask me, “Well what the heck are we supposed to do?”
Ok so lets’s talk tonight for a moment about the basics and what to do with them once you have your info together.
1: You will need grades good enough to play football in college.
2: You are going to bee good film of 3-5 minutes to show coaches. They are only going to watch about 30 seconds for the most part.
3: You are going to need an informational Resume.
4: You are going to need a list to reach these guys and a system of how to track the responses.
5: You need to showcase talent that projects to the level your trying to be recruited at.
6: You need to maintain behavior consistent with what a College is looking for- this is a huge investment they are asking you to make and eyes are on today’s athlete more then ever.

One of the things that gives the bad guys power over you and your recruit is that they claim to “Know all the Coaches” and to have influence. You Coaches reading this get a subscription for your team and assign a Coach the job of sending out your best players HUDL info once a month. Mom and Dad get the list and send out film and resume/ profile sheets. You can do this. Some of the kids we have covered have used this to send out 5 a week for 10 weeks. That’s 50 schools and most of them send back at least a note or a thank you.
This is powerful and we want you to understand these tools are out there. As you prepare yourself to play this season at doubles and get ready to head into the classroom this simple tool can allow you to power up your collegiate prospects as well.
