Week 12 Friday Night’s Best NW- Players of the Week!

It was a short week so it took us a while but soon after finishing a terrific meal with Family we dug in on the Friday Night's Best and Player of the Week for Washington tonight and Oregon will be out tomorrow.  The week may have been a short one.  But the Boys of Fall were not short of big performances.

Here are our Nominations and Player Of The Week

Washington

  • Nate Beasley- Camas:  Wow what a performance this speedy Junior had.  He went for 250 yards and 5 TD's and Caught another one for a Touchdown as well.  The young man and his Papermakers made a Statement for sure.  This week against Skyline he needs to repeat if they are going to beat the Spartans!
  • Kai Van Sickle- Capital:  God this guy is good.  Such a huge powerful back.  277 Yards and 5 TD's as the speedy back could not be denied.  The Cougars beat up on Burlington-Edison 46-19.  Pick up the full story here from our friends at TNT – http://www.thenewstribune.com/2012/11/18/2371859/star-stepbrothers-carry-capital.html
  • Camas Offensive Line-  Watch this crew.  They block up field and create havoc for defenses!
  • Prosser Mustangs –  The Boys from Prosser beat #1 Othello and did it 15-14 by completing some big first down and some big plays as well.  Danny Raap at WR, Bubba Frank at RB, and Ryan Fassler all led the squad and move on the next round of the Playoffs.  They are now 11-1.  Great job guys!
  • Royal Knights-  Team:  Man can these kids play!   They beat Cle-Elum for the second time this season and move to 12-0.  The Knights dominated the game and walked off a winner 61-27 and did so under the leadership of Alex Myrick.  This team looks to be ready to take the Gold Ball.  Read More here http://www.tri-cityherald.com/2012/11/20/2177963/hard-work-pays-off-for-myrick.html
  • University High Defense–  The Titans moved to 8-4 and sent North Thurston home out of the playoffs getting the job done 23-13.  The Titan's did it with Team defense and denied any real big plays that North Thurston tried to get going.  This is a resourceful team who keep defying skeptics!
  • Josh Kraght- Lynden HS QB-  This guy is Mr MVP.  He can do it all and play any position he is assigned.  He led Lynden to a 42-7 win over Sumner racking up 305 yards passing and he had 5 Touchdown passes.  He is leading the Lion's back to the Dome where they know how to win!
  • Auburn TrojansThe comeback kids surprised a lot of people by beating Mead.  They showed a mental toughness and that edge you want to see in a team that is heading to the Tacoma Dome.  Their Defense stiffled Mead and they won 21-7.
  • Matthew Philichi- Mr Clutch- Kicker For Bellarmine Prep–  The young man had to hit a 25 yard field Goal with the game on the line and he did just that to boost the visiting Lions to the Tacoma Dome and make the long ride from Spokane to Tacoma a lot easier for the Lions.  The final score was 32-29 over Gonzaga Prep.
  • Lou Millie- Bellarmine Prep– 205 Yards on the ground on 39 carries and 2 TD's.  The young man has gotten better and better all Season long.  He is ready to follow stud QB Sefo Liufau and the Lions into Battle at the Tacoma Dome Saturday against Auburn!
  • Jack Meggs- Bellevue QB-  Think Bellevue Football.  Dominating Wing T!  Think Passing.  Nope.  Not so much.  But a really cool development for the Wolverines is the arm and passing ability of Bellevue's Jack Meggs.  He went for right at 200 yards through the air and hit long 3 long TD passes including an 80 Yarder to Idaho commit Reuben Mwehla.  Wolverines roll 40-3.
