By now many people outside of Battle Ground, Washington have started to hear about this kid that racked up almost 400 yards of offense in the Opener. His 5 TD"s led the way for the 41-27 win over RA Long High School. And would you believe this was sort of unexpected?
The Full back Haynes is 6'1"-230 pound stud was expected to be more of a tight-end or Linebacker. But the Full back spot is perfect for this young man too.
Before he blew up Friday Night last week we saw him at Coach John Charles Air One Football Academy. This was a kid we kept seeing make great catches and some really athletic moves. He is a hybrid athlete who is big and powerful and yet fast. A really nice combination.
He is a quiet kid and we saw him week after week at camps with his nose to the grind stone doing work. When he is pushed he pushed back and he is an obvious competitor who get fired up really fast. We can only imagine what was going through his mind as he rolled over everyone.
Will it always be like this in the 2012 campaign? Heck no. But who cares. Most guys dream about having a season like that let alone one game.
What Kevin Haynes has done is put himself on the map. What happens next is up for grabs but based on the Kevin Haynes we saw all Spring we say expect more of the same!
Great job big-man.
For those of you not lucky enough to see it here is a replay of that great performance.
