We loved this guy at camps and clinics we attended the past two seasons because his hands, size, and speed all added up to collegiate level talent. Ever since then Jared Berry of Bothell has been on our Top Prospects for 2013 Watch List. And we came back around on him again to see how things were going for him as the Holiday nears.
Here is the 2 Minute Drill with Jared Berry of Bothell HS.
ON: Is there any recent news on the Collegiate front? Have you been contacted by any schools via phone, em,ail, mail, text, or Facebook etc?
Humboldt State, Montana Tech, and Greenville College have all called me.
Central Washington, Linfield, and Pacific – I have talked to the coaches in person.
Portland State and Southwest Baptist have emailed me.
ON: How is the Season Going so far for you and the Team?
Season went good but not as good as we liked. Lost in the playoffs to Bellermine
What Position(s) are you playing this season?
Wide receiver /slot and corner back
ON: Are you happy with your progress?
My strengths as an athlete are never giving up or taking a play off. My coaches never have to yell at me for not going hard cause they know that I always give it 110%. How I have improved as an athlete is that I have learned to calm down and flush bad plays and move onto the next play.
On: What is your favorite part of the Football season?
My favorite part of the football season is just in general playing football.
In a year from now what do you want to look back on and remember about this season?
The one thing that I want to look back on and remember about the season is looking back at all the games and seeing how on every play I have it 100% and went as hard as I could go. I also want to remember and look back on player with my brothers cause nothing beats playing with the guys you love.
Name some guys who you have been impressed with on your team?
Danny Wilson is an incredible athlete. After coming back from numerous injures he amazed me. He is also one of the nicest people I’ve met and an incredible friend.
ON: Why should a college recruit you when there are so many kids out there? What sets you apart?
The reason a college should recruit me is because I am the type of person and player that will never give up on anything.
No matter how big or small it may be the one thing I do is don’t quit. I know kids that are some of the best high school athletes in the country, but the one thing that they lack is integrity and the meaning of playing as a team. I will always put the team before my personal needs and do whatever I need to do to help my team win.
