Yesterday we reported on Devante Downs landing his 3rd major offer which came in from ASU.  So today he added another another offer.  Two Days… Two Offers!  Nice.

"I was just offered by Colorado State today.  That was pretty nice," said Downs by phone.

That makes 4 offers from D-1 Schools and this is his first Non Pac 12 offer.  The Rams are a Mountain West school and had one of the best seasons they have had in a long time under first year Head Man Coach Jim McElwain.

McElwain was the Offensive Coordinator at Alabama for Nick Saban prior to taking the job for CSU and knows what he is doing.  We have spoken to him before when he was at Alabama about our NW prospects and it is so rewarding to see him coming out here going after our NW kids!

The offense was much improved this year under his stewardship.

"I can play offense of defense they said.  It is up to me if I choose to go there," added Devante.  "That was a really nice feeling."

The staff emphasized that they are new and have reinvigorated the program this season.  They pointed to the positives of living in Ft. Collins and all the great attributes they have to offer.

Downs wrapped it up by saying, "This is an honor to be getting this offers.  I work really hard to keep myself in shape, keep my grades up, and be the best student I can be.  The pay off for all that work is really nice to see."

The 6'3"-235 Pound pure Athlete wants that football and he is hearing from more and more schools that he can do that if he chooses.  That is a sign that his recruitment is really starting to heat up!

Congrats to Devante and to the Rams and Coach McElwain as well.
