At Cascade high school in South Everett, there is a special young thoroughbred burning up the track this spring. That would be junior blazer Kaleb Dobson, who’s specialty is the hurdles and the long jump.
On April 6th at the prestigious Arcadia Invite in California, Dobson sailed his way to a 4th place finish (out of 52 competitors) in the 110 meter high hurdles. He finished with a rock-solid early season time of 14.84. He soared 21’2” in the long jump, for a 6th place finish, against many of the top guns on the west coast.
Last week at the Eason Invitational in Snohomish the 6’0” 175 pound rocket won the outstanding male athlete award. He set the school record in the 110 HH, winning in 14.48 seconds. He also won the 300 intermediate hurdles in 40.46 seconds, and the long jump at 21’ 1.5”. Kaleb has flown 21’9” in the long jump, early in the season for his personal best.
Last spring as a super sophomore the lightning bolt Dobson qualified for the state 4A track meet in both the long jump and 110 HH.
Oh yah, Dobson is not to shabby on the gridiron either. The fleet footed Dobson finished 5th in the Wesco Conference in receiving. He caught 37 balls for 612 yards and 9 touchdowns. Caleb also garnered 2nd team all-league honors from his defensive back spot.
Big, big things still to come from this young man, stay tuned!
