Carter Remains Under Recruited But The Promise of Fall Brings Options

One of the most under the radar kids in the Region as the season draws near is O'Dea High School big man Bryan Carter.

Now he has already made a blip and a pretty good one too.  Many colleges have his name and some film on him.  But other kids have moved up and he has been side tracked with a few things that have kept him out of competition.

So tonight we caught up with the big man to try and shed some light on what is happening as dead week has arrived.

"I had great showings where ever I went this Summer," said Carter who at 6'4" and 240 pounds is making his case as an elite defensive end.  "I did however not get to nearly as many camps as I had hoped to."

That however has not stopped him from gathering interest.  The effort he laid down at the Northwest Elite Football Camp (former Gesser camp) as show above was enough to impress many of the dozens of college coaches in attendance.  Carter was a finalist for the All Camp D-Line award and made our WashingtonPreps.com All Camp List.  That sent a ripple through many recruiting offices at the Colleges out West.

"I am hearing a lot from WSU, OSU, PSU, Wyoming, and Eastern Washington.  They are all in contact and are keeping tabs," he added.

Carter has a major motor and is driven.  When the season starts there is not any doubt that he will unleash everything he has in his arsenal against opposing teams.  He is looking to make a statement early in the season.

"I have been contacting all these coaches.  The weight room has been going amazing and I will emerge bigger, stronger, and faster this season," he said.  "I am going to definitely going to showcase my game at the highest level this year."

Carter is a top recruit and while the offers have not dropped yet they will.  He has been as good as anyone we have seen in these past couple of months and a little early season film with Carter getting after it should have several of these colleges pulling the proverbial trigger.

Best wishes to Bryan and the O'Dea Fighting Irish as they wrap up preparations to get after it this season.
