It was a year ago that we all saw Budda Baker crack of an 80 plus TD run on special teams and say "Wow".  IN the year that has followed there have been a whole lot of "Wow" moments for the dynamic Bellevue Wolverine mainly known as Budda.

Bishard Baker is Budda Baker.

And Budda Baker is synonymous now with Championships and big time D-1 Talent.  The 5'11"- 185 Pound star DB/RB/ATHLETE simply amazes all that watch him.  Opponents praise him even as they are watching him go by.

"The best player I have ever been on the field with," said one top Recruit from an opposing team this month.  "That is a future NFL prospect right there."

Maybe so.  And Budda surely is not worried about that.  Right now he is still celebrating being a part of his 3rd Bellevue Championship and looking ahead to a 4th one next Season.

He was the star of that WIAA State Title game as Bellevue won their 5th State Title in a row over an Undefeated Eastside Catholic Team.  Final score was 35-3.

Baker broke the first punt of the game 71 yards to the end zone for the score and never looked back.  He followed that  up a bit later in the game with a 61 yard blast to the end zone and finished with 95 yards.   He had an Interception, some huge tackles, and was everywhere all night as all of the Wolverines seemed to be.

Baker and the Wolverines are now 40-0, they finished the season #2 in the Nation, and allowed only 72 points all year.  This is 5 straight State Titles and 10 out of the past 12 years.  This is starting to become a program that can be considered one of the premier schools of all time in the US ever.  That folks is no joke.

As Budda looks ahead he knows his Coaches and the Bellevue staff have things in hand in regards to his future.  He relies on Coach Butch Goncharoff to intake all in interest and offers and just now is finally going to start really looking into things.  There are as many as 25 big time D-1 schools offering and Baker is not even sure who they all are yet.  That is huge for kids like him.  Having a Coach and Staff who realize this aspect is important and needs to be treated as such and for now he is insulated, somewhat, from the pressures of big time recruiting.

Here is Budda Baker talking with us right after receiving the WIAA State Championship Trophy!
