Danny Wilson Verbally Commits To Idaho
In some breaking news tonight we are pleased to announce that one of our favorite kids in the NW is committing verbally tonight to Idaho. Danny Wilson of Bothell is one guy who many insiders felt the Pac 12 schools might pop on. But up to this point they have not and he is ready to make a verbal pledge.
Tonight we chatted with the Silky Smooth Running Back about his future and the fit at Idaho.
The Vandals just completed an exhaustive hire and have brought in Arnkansas Razorback OC Paul Petrino. The guys is known for being one of the Offensive Master Minds in the Nation and he wants to take the program to the next level and will open up the field. That bodes well for Wilson.
“Coach has a plan to spread the ball around and get it into the hands of the play makers and using speed,” said Wilson.
No doubt Wilson could be a potent weapon in that offense. At times this season he was cracking off big plays and as the season went along he just got better and better.
Danny had Eastern Washington in hand but in the end felt the opportunity in this offense and the fit was a little better with the Vandals.
“I have spoken with the RB Coach quite a bit and like him. This new scheme and new energy is pretty special so we will see what happens,” he added.
He went on to say that Idaho is looking at some of his Blue-Train pals and that he is looking to get some other top guys up there too help in the rebuilding process.
Petrino has an impressive resume and is going to be one to watch as he plans to get the Vandals back into the W’s. To do that he is going to need explosive athletes like Wilson.
Right now Danny is working out with his Dad and former NFL player Paul Lavine. He says he is getting bigger and faster as a result.
While it is still possible that a bigger school could grab a kid like Danny he seems settled into the roll of future RB at Idaho and that should mean an opportunity to contribute early! Congrats to Danny on this big news.
Happy Holidays to you all.
