These 4 VS 5 Matchups are really intriguing every year.    Here are just a few of the Games we think could be interesting this weekend.  Get out and support all these great teams as well!

Thurston VS Oregon City-   We will see an always tough Thurston Squad come in and battle no doubt.  And for Oregon City it is win or go home again this season.  It feels like a close game and that is mainly because Thurston has a solid defense and some big hitters and will put up a fight.  Both teams were bested by top tier teams like Lake Oswego and Sheldon this season but both are capable of big games.  Can Thurston prove that the 6A Southern Oregon Conference was tougher then the OSAA Computers thought?  Well they will get their chance.  They did take Second in their League going 5-2 while OC took 3rd in the Three Rivers League.

The Sunset VS McMinnville Game on paper is another good one.  But this is where the METRO LEAGUE FACTOR starts to rear its head.  The teams in the Metro are year in and year out loaded Powerhouse teams.  And Sunset is a 4 seed that can play.  They took Aloha and Jesuit to the Wall and competed in ever single game.  Bruce Jones Junior will get a work out and people will see a future D-1 kid laying it all on the line.  Add to that Willy Pflug at QB having a really nice year, a solid line led by Mark Swigart and Wr Talent Ryan Hendry and you have a complete team.  Mac hopes to see the return of phenom Spencer Payne who comes back from an appendectomy 4 weeks ago and we hope he is at 90 % plus because if he is this is going to be a fun one.

Sprague VS Westview  The 8-1 Olympians are enjoying a really great season and have beaten teams like Grant, Wilsonville, Mountain View, and Roseburg.   Devvon Gage is the man here.  6'3"-215 Pound Running Back?  Yes.  And he is at 1,154 Yards and 17 TD's.  The Olys QB Jon Schaub has thrown for 1,532 Yards, 24 TD's and only 3 picks.  So this team is tough.  They host the last place team in the Metro in Westview.  The Cats are solid top to bottom but dropped some tough games.  Their solid defense is respected and their offense is capable of doing some things too.  Julius Rucker at QB has 2200 yards and 21 TD's and is a big threat to run.   Daniel Abdie has 350 yards receiving and is a great athlete and the Tight End Teagan Lind is a top TE for the 2015 Class.   Hank Kamakaala (JR) and Dylan Savage (SR) are two of the standouts that are helping the Cats every night too.

Crater at Century Explosive Offense versus Explosive Defense.  This one will be fun to watch as we have two of the top Defensive Players in the State in Derrick Turituri and RJ Morgan from Crater showing up to battle the Top QB in 6A, Sam Riddle, and his bunch including the incomparable do it all athlete Xavier Mitchell.  Vance Hamiliton is another big play Wide receiver as well.  Riddle is pushing 2500 yards and has thrown 33 TD's and run for 5 more.  Alex Sirois 6'6"-300 Pounds anchirs a colid Century Line who protect Riddle! The Jaguars are 7-2 and barely lost to conference Champs Tigard and #2 Seed Tualatin.  He is on the verge of College Offers so we look for a classic top performance from this guy.  So this one will be fun too watch!

Grant At West Salem–  It appears that many want to hand this one to West Salem but this could very well be the game of the night!  And the Titans are for real.  But Grant with Sam Davis (Soph) evolving at the QB Spot is capable of winning this Game.  Nate Halverson is still considered a top 2 or 3 D-1 Star and he is capable of dominating opponents in the Passing Lanes.  And there are other guys on this Grant team that can get it done including Dominique Penn (SOPH) WR and DB, Cordell Harris (Senior) sho has 550 Yards and 5 TDs Receiveing, and Bryant Peek who is right at 1,000 yards rushing.   Now for the Titans you will see Cade Smith at the QB Spot who is so good and will counter Davis with an equally compelling litany of skills.  Cade is already gaining interest and verbal offers following in the footsteps of his All American brother Brett (Wyoming Cowboys).  The kid has over 1500 yards and 22 TD's and 11 of those are on the ground in short yardage situations.  He is big and can really run! The Titans have Ambrose Soh at RB who has gone for 933 Yards and 12 TD's on the ground and can flat out move!  Add to this Mix a great line led by 6'5"-300 pound Matthew Sommer who has several Big Sky level offers and it  is easy to see why these guys are so good.

Tomorrow we will have a close look at the 5A Divsion.  All of these gamnes are good games so make sure you get out there and support your Home Team or even just your favorite team that is left.  For $6 there is no better way to spend a Fall Evening then right here in Oregon!
